Biofuels from eucalyptus plant
Due to eucalyptus wood (Globulus type) high energy content and its composition to cellulose, the energy related treatment of the wood is extremely efficient. This treatment mainly regards to a thermo-chemical conversion from solid to gaseous and then liquid forms. That technology is pretty much recently known and, from a commercial point of view, yet not established and mature.
Bio-diesel and Ethanol production
Research and Development team of EHL has recently began an effort for investigating the potentiality of wood’s utilization for fuels production and also the feasibility of such cases. In cooperation with Swedish and Finish companies – which possess state of the art technologies regarding bio-technology – our team is currently evaluating the installation of a pilot unit for demo production and laboratory analysis. In that effort, EHL has involved also a major Greek Oil Company, for on-site testing of the products. We remain optimistic and expect within the next 2 years to install a mid-scale production unit.
