Wood-based Products
Due to its organic composition, eucalyptus wood is highly rich in cellulose and has extremely useful properties. Wood can be, primarily or after a treatment, used for plenty of purposes.
It can be used:
Wood-columns/poles for electricity network (wiring)
Wood poles from eucalyptus are widely used due to wood resistance in weather conditions and its quality standards. In places where there is a lack in distribution network infrastructure, such as Sub-Saharan Africa region, or East Asia, eucalyptus wood is the most suitable solution for a cost effective and solid investment for establishing local electricity Grids.
Retail wood market for small-scale burners or fireplaces
Eucalyptus wood can be burnt easily and effectively such as pine and oak, producing significant heat energy per dry kilogram of biomass.
Pellet and wood-chips
Through chipping or pelletizing process, eucalyptus wood is cut into smaller pieces, usually in specific dimensions (pellet). That procedure is applied to the biomass needs of large scale burners, industrial units for heat and power generation, as well as for energy-related treatment and refining of the wood. Such refining includes bio-energy and bio-fuel production plants. In that purpose, the wood should also be dried, at a level under a 10% moisture, so that it will extract all its content and be converted to useful and applicable energy types (thermal and chemical).
